Six Things You Know About Me... Now

Angie over at My So Called Chaos tagged me in her most recent ''get to know me better'' post.  I love doing these every now & then.  It's a great way for me to re-introduce myself to my readers.  It's the kind of post I love stumbling upon on other blogs, so here we go!

Is this how you thought your life would be.
Yes & no.  I was never one to daydream about my wedding day or a house with a white picket fence.  I knew, without a doubt, that I wanted kids.  I always assumed I would have 3.  I never imagine I'd be an ''autism mama'' though... but it's a role I am always adapting to & proud to be.  Of course, I hoped I wouldn't have to struggle financially... and even though times have been hard here & there... I wouldn't change a thing.  I have a beautiful family, a good job and cozy place to call home.  I never thought I'd be a blogger or do photography on the side either... life has a funny way of helping you become the best you that you can be.

If money were no question, I would purchase:
A home. duh.
I've actually worked really hard at paying down our debt & starting a savings account.  We're well on our way!  So, without a doubt, if I had money to buy anything right now.  I would buy the most perfect house for us.

What's your dink of choice when out with girlfriends?
Well, I rarely go out and I'm not much of a drinker, so the most honest answer I can give you is iced tea.  However, vodka & cranberry juice is my alcoholic beverage of choice.

What do you love about yourself?
I love that I am a chameleon.  Whether it be fashion or a new hairstyle, I am constantly changing my look.  I feel most comfortable not being the same all the time. I embrace my individuality and I want my kids to see a woman who isn't afraid to just be herself.

Name a good deed that went unseen.
I think I do a lot of little things for people that they might not know about.  And simple things like holding doors open, letting someone with even less items than you pass in front at the express counter.  I make little donations whenever I can. I shaved my head for charity... I do what I can.

What hobbies do you have that you don't mention here.
Well, my main hobbies are definitely photography & blogging.... hmmmm.  I did some scrapbooking for a while, but I haven't done that in ages.  Is shopping a hobby?

I'm tagging anyone who wants to join in o the fun! Be sure to let me know if you & I'll be sure to check out your post!

  1. Lena, good luck with your house hunting! I can just imagine you in a cute bungalow like the one you pictured. I love posts like this. I've shared your blog with one of my friends whose child has autism. My own daughter is probably somewhere on the spectrum as well, but I haven't had her tested. You are a great mom, and I adore your fashion sense! It's funny how blogging changes your life, isn't it? I never thought I would be asked to shoot engagement pictures or family portraits when I first started to snap pics. And shopping is SO a hobby!

  2. AHHH, that house pic is so adorable! I really hope when you do (and I believe you will!) buy a house it will be as cute as that :)

  3. I love it! You are so fantastic, thanks for doing this and letting me read it! :)

  4. "life has a funny way of helping you become the best you that you can be."
i love this..and its so so true. Im thankful for the ups and downs, trial and error, and trying new helps you find you =)
as far as the "good deed" thing, I remember when I first start blogging and you supported me by "sponsoring me" for two or three months. I think you are one of the most truly kind hearted, supportive bloggers I've met... with a big heart!

  5. I would like to add: Life is Unexpected and Surprising. I enjoyed knowing more about you since
I already like your style. Great family photo.

  6. Love this!! I posted one of my own:

  7. I love seeing you with your family. How beautiful y'all are! Your daughter has your sweet eyes (and mischievous look, hehe) and your son has the!

  8. This was wonderful, I enjoyed learning new things about you :) Your family is beautiful. And I agree about your style, I am the same. I can't wear the same genre of clothes all the time, I get bored. I wear more different things than I share on my blog - as there is just not always time. But, I've always felt it helps me to discover new things and people even dressing differently. And I learn more about myself. Loved this ;) Have a great week xx

  9. I love posts like these!
I love your answer to the question, Is this how you imagined your life would turn out. I've come to realize that your life is what it is, now, what you are living, pointless on waiting and hoping for a better life to come around so you can be happy.. So it's best to make the most of the life you are living. It doesn't mean that you have to stop dreaming but it does mean that you have to be grateful for what you have. Have a great week! ps. I'm also still dreaming of a home of our own ....
