That Awkward Moment Your Kid Tells Their Teacher You're Pregnant... And You're Not

True Story:
Today I got a message from Ruby's teacher congratulating me on my pregnancy. I just responded with a "????"  She told me Ruby had told her I was pregnant... with a little girl... and we had decided to name her Ali.  I was shocked... I swear Ruby lives on a completely other planet sometimes! Ha!

Just to clear things up in case my daughter's rumor makes it around town... I am NOT expecting.  That ship has sailed! My family is complete and if you do see me around town sporting a bit of a "bump" you can safely assume it's just a food baby from my hubby's awesome cooking.

50 shades of grey {hair}

I have so much fun switching up my hair color. Hit or miss, it's just hair and can be fixed, trimmed, colored or cut at the next appointment.  I used to do alot more with the actual style... but I've gotten a bit lazy and have stuck to a short pixie for what seems like forever now... I just need to get on  youtube for some hair styling techniques for short hair...

When I walked into the salon last week, they asked if we were just going to "do the same thing" and I said I wasn't sure what else to do... I knew I wasn't loving the red, but I hadn't really thought about what color to do next.  I decided to let my stylist just go for it and she mixed up a really cool grey/titanium/lavender mix... and I LOVE it!  I've gotten a lot of compliments, even from my more conservative friends & co-workers.

It's a hit!

Wonder what shade I'll go next time!?

Wear : TOMS & Jeggings

Hey guys! I'm back!
Spring has sprung and it's time to get outside and start taking outfit posts again!
In all my pasty glory! #itsbeenalongwinter

This is a pretty typical casual Friday look for me.  Acid was jeggings from Forever21, new TOMS and lots of layers. Grab a pair of sunnies and my favorite new bag from Dash of Fab and I'm good to go!  You have no idea how freeing it is to NOT have to wear socks anymore! Or a jacket (well, a jacket is still necessary most days, but you catch my drift...).

Jolie Folie

So excited to introduce you to Melanie today. She's a local mom that I've known for a while... Our kids actually went to daycare together and Ruby absolutely adores her daughter Addison! Melanie has always loved fashion and recently has taken the steps to bring her passion to life. Her new online shop is amazing... I'm on a bit of a spending freeze myself, but a girl can dream, right?

I'll let you hear a bit more from the lady herself! (she's the one in the hat above!)

Hi Lena! Thanks for hosting me on your blog. This is such an exciting time. I've dreamt of owning my own boutique for most of my adult life.
Basically the reason I decided to start my own online boutique was because…I love clothes. But who doesn't, right? I’m still not ready to quit my job and do this fulltime, but I want to see what kind of interest I can generate with my line.

Quitting my job and doing this fulltime might be only a pipe dream, but it’s worth trying. It’s been a wild ride so far—meeting with sales reps., shopping from designers, etc.—and I look forward to what the future holds.
For your loyal followers, they should know that I carry the latest fashion trends from all of the hottest designers: Lisa Todd, Mona B., Tommy Bahama, Joules, and many others. I also have my own personal line of handmade accessories, Bellarose, made from upcycled clothing.
In opening this online boutique, I wanted to cater to ladies who love style, but I also wanted to make sure that my assortment of clothing was reasonably priced for everyone.

I believe that women will fall in love with the products on my site. Those interested, can check out my spring/summer line at My accessories can be accessed via my Facebook page at
Thanks again for helping me spread the word.

Thanks for stopping by, Mel!

Now go check out her shop/Facebook page and tell her Lena sent you!
Have a happy day, friends!
