My Fashion Review 2014 : part 2

<<Part 1>>

I bought this green dress "second-hand" from a friend. Thing is, she had never worn it! Still had the tags on! The polka dot one was a steal of a deal too! Happy to have added both to my dress collection this summer!

I also had fun with cute patterns, shorts & rompers this summer!

This was probably one of my last outfit posts.  With school starting up with the kids (homework!), my workload at my 9-5, photoshoots on the weekend and knowing I was going to have to start studying for the course I was taking at work, I knew the blog was going to have to be put on the back burner for a while...

I have been posting on instagram this month with my Dressember looks, have you followed along!?

Happy New Year, friends! Be safe!
See you in 2015!

My Fashion Review 2014 : part 1

Another year has come & gone, and I like to look back on the blog.  This year saw more fashion posts and my weekly Passion For Fashion (which was co-hosted & now in the very capable hands of Rachel The Hat) linkup was a huge success.

It is difficult to take decent outfit pictures in the winter here... so I started off 2014 with a confession about my shoe addiction...

I showed off my version of a Canadian Tuxedo in March...

With Spring right around the corner, I was finally able to get outside for some fun fashion shoots!

One of my favorite looks of 2014 was this drapey pants / crop top / big sunglasses look I sported in May!  Such a fun, comfy & sophisticated look!

And I even wore more denim on denim!

Be sure to come back tomorrow for my favorite fashions of the second half of 2014!

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas Eve, friends!
The kids were up at the crack of dawn this morning! I *reminded* them it wasn't Christmas ''yet'' but Memphis was all ''But I just checked NORAD and Santa was cleared for takeoff and he just flew over New Zealand... our present are *literally* on their way!!'' I have a feeling it's going to be a really long day for them!

I'll be back in a few days to share photos & stories of our Christmas day, in the meantime I just wanted to wish you all Happy Holidays!  Be safe!!

Dressember 2014 : Weeks 2 & 3

For a recap, you can check out Week 1 here

Okay, so here's the thing. I've actually missed 3 days in the past 2 weeks.
The first was Day 9. It was the day I was heading to the city, bright & early, to take my final 2 exams. To be honest, I was so nervous about the tests, I didn't even think about Dressember. However, I made up for it on Day 12 when I had a "day look" and an "evening look" ;)

The third week started okay, until Day 17... I started feeling pretty crappy and fought a flu/cold bug the rest of the week. I made it until Friday, but I spent the weekend in my pajamas.  No dresses. Boo.

I'm feeling better today, and still have a few dresses I haven't worn so I'm confident I can make it until the end of the month with no repeats!

Are you participating in Dressember this year? If so, leave a comment below and I'll be sure to follow along!  You can follow me on Instagram here!

Dressember 2014 :: week 1

I am so excited to be participating in Dressember again this year.
I did it in 2012 "just for fun" and was able to make it through that month without any repeats... which was what my real challenge was back then.

This year, I feel responsible to help spread the word & awareness about what Dressember really is:

"The heart of Dressember is dignity-- that every woman has the right to live a vibrant and free life.
As you take on the creative challenge of wearing a dress for the 31 days of December, you are advocating for the inherent dignity of all women.
Dressember is meant to inspire and empower a global community of people who are locking arms to face one of the greatest injustices of our time.
Donations to the Dressember 2014 campaign will support the work of International Justice Mission, a human rights organization that is bringing rescue and freedom to victims of slavery, sex trafficking and other forms of violent oppression. Learn more about IJM."

Regardless if I actually hit my goal of raising $300 (1 week in and I haven't received a single donation... YOU can donate here if you'd like!! hint hint), I'm happy and honored to be 1 of thousands of women joining together for such a worthy cause!

7 days in, and I've paired my dresses with leggings, tights & jeans (it's COLD here!). I've gone to work, ran errands and even attended a winter parade... just goes to show #youcandoanythinginadress.

Follow along with me on my instagram or my Facebook page & search hashtag #Dressember for other fabulous ladies taking part in Dressember this year.
