I am so excited to be participating in Dressember again this year.
I did it in 2012 "just for fun" and was able to make it through that month without any repeats... which was what my real challenge was back then.
This year, I feel responsible to help spread the word & awareness about what Dressember really is:
"The heart of Dressember is dignity-- that every woman has the right to live a vibrant and free life.
As you take on the creative challenge of wearing a dress for the 31 days of December, you are advocating for the inherent dignity of all women.
Dressember is meant to inspire and empower a global community of people who are locking arms to face one of the greatest injustices of our time.
Donations to the Dressember 2014 campaign will support the work of International Justice Mission, a human rights organization that is bringing rescue and freedom to victims of slavery, sex trafficking and other forms of violent oppression. Learn more about IJM."
Regardless if I actually hit my goal of raising $300 (1 week in and I haven't received a single donation... YOU can donate here if you'd like!! hint hint), I'm happy and honored to be 1 of thousands of women joining together for such a worthy cause!
7 days in, and I've paired my dresses with leggings, tights & jeans (it's COLD here!). I've gone to work, ran errands and even attended a winter parade... just goes to show #youcandoanythinginadress.
Follow along with me on my instagram or my Facebook page & search hashtag #Dressember for other fabulous ladies taking part in Dressember this year.
