Last weekend I spent a night at my best friend's place in Ottawa. Even though I'm only an hour or so away, I rarely have time to go down and just "hang out."  When I do, our weekend goes a little like this:

Meet up, chat/gossip & catch up.
Grab something to eat... all the while catching up on all those things that are too hard to explain by text or email...
Then we usually rent a scary movie.  The cheesier the better.
It's a sacred tradition of ours.
I think this was our worst pick yet. And there have been some doozies!
Word to the wise, do NOT rent Rubber.  Just don't.
Usually, we end up falling asleep during the movie... party animals, right?  This one was so boring we didn't even make it half way through!
The rest of the visit usually involves shopping, more food and usually one of us gets something pierced or tattooed (not this time, unfortunately).

Saturday morning we were up early (no kids, and we were still up at the crack of dawn!), so we showered and headed out to the Great Glebe Garage Sale.  It was such a beautiful day and I was happy to be in town this weekend to take advantage of it!  I only spent $7! But I snagged a great little basket (perfect for newborn photography) and a bunch of Judy Blume and Goosebumps chapters books for Memphis!

We ate breakfast at the coolest little food truck called Flapjack's... local peeps, you HAVE to check this place out!  By lunchtime we had made our way to a different neighborhood for more food... and shopping!  I bought this H&M floral sundress for $12.  I've been wanting a really comfortable, loose, floral dress for the summer, so I was stoked to come across this!  It also has the best pockets!  I wore it the next day and ripped it... the giant pocket caught on my doorknob and rip the entire seam.  Just my luck... :(
Luckily, my mother-in-law can sew and she thinks she can save it for me!

I know we're half way through the week already, but how was your weekend?

  1. I love your dress. Food trucks don't seem to be a thing in Edinburgh and it upsets me so much! I hope your mother in law manages to save the day!

  6. Good Lord, that is one awesome dress and with POCKETS, I love pockets. I do not think an outfit should be sold without pockets ( just saying) you look great.

  7. What an awesome dress! That that the print changes. Sounds like an amazing weekend. One of my college best friends lives a couple hours away. At least once a year my other friend and I drag our husbands for a visit. It's sounds like your weekend. They are the best! Jealous of that food truck.
