Passion For Fashion : Autism Awareness :

Wednesday, April 2nd was Autism Awareness Day and earlier this week I shared a little about how Memphis is doing since being back home (long story short, he was hospitalized Monday-Friday from November to February at a renown children's psychiatric hospital).

Last year, during the 4th installment of Passion For Fashion, I shared a post about Fashion For A Cause and totally rocked my "Different Not Less" tee from Sevenly.

I'm just days away from the end of my 100 Day Spending Ban, but I had to support the cause and ordered this Live Loud for Autism racerback tank.  I just love, love, love being able to support a cause that is so close to our hearts.  Having a kid on the spectrum has been one of the most difficult but rewarding experiences and he has taught us all so much!  This week, $7 of each purchase goes towards this cause.

Did you participate in Autism Awareness Day activities?  We wore blue (per the Light It Up Blue campaign) and attended a local fundraising event!

  1. Whoa! It's 12:30 here but just linked up. I loved your post the other day about Memphis's improvement. Man, I bet that was so great to see that a his Mom. You are a fabulous woman, Lena and I am sure your family thinks so. It would be so difficult to send him off, but you did it and paid off. Most things that require sacrifices are well worth it. ♥

  2. Lena, I love your T-Shirt today and the other one you featured. Both are beautiful, for great causes and with strong, powerful messages.

My pleasure linking up this Friday with you & Rachel. Enjoy the weekend! Ada. =)

  3. I just found out that Temple Grandin will be at a conference in my area next month. As a teacher of Autistic Support, I'm really hoping my district will approve me to go!

  4. I'm an autistic woman, but I see, for me, no reason to celebrate it.
Maybe it would be different if I lived in the U.S. (?)

  5. These shirts ROCK! I'm on a bit of a stinky spending ban myself.. Even if I don't sometimes follow it either.

  6. So glad Memphis is back home and doing well. You are one of the few bloggers I can think of who writes candidly about personal experiences with autism. Please consider joining my Light It Up Blue link-up for Autism Awareness:
