Three Books I *want* to Read This Month

This year I really want to get back to reading. I LOVE reading, always have.
I thought of making a list of three to try to get through every month.  Some months I might read more, hopefully I won't be reading any less.

I'm kicking 2014 off with Through the Zombie Glass.
I loved the first book of the White Rabbit Chronicle series, Alice in Zombieland (review here), by Gena Showalter and was excited to find it at the checkout counter of our local grocery store a few months ago.  I actually *started* this book last year. But I only made it a chapter or two before I got sidetrack with... life.  I picked it up again last night & zipped through the next few chapters!

Next, I'm hoping to read the first book of the Divergent series by Veronica Roth.  I love a good series, can you tell?
I also love seeing a book brought to life on the big screen... and since this book is due out in theaters in March, I really need to find out what all the hype is about.  If I enjoy it, there's a good chance I'll read the next 2 books immediately after...

And last, but not least, is The Reason I Jump.  As an autism parent, I think it's important and invaluable to get the autism perspective straight from the source.  Emotionally, these books are always hard for me.  When I realize how little I can actually relate to the struggles my son is going through, it breaks my heart.  But it also warms my heart that people like Naoki Higashida can help us understand these remarkable individuals a little better.

Really looking forward to getting back into one of my favorite pastimes.
Have you read any of these?  What is on your "to read" list this year. Any suggestions on what my next 3 picks should be?

  3. I'm currently going through the illustrated version of the Hobbit [again!] after seeing Desolation of Smaug on Xmas Eve. Soooo many differences. It's actually pretty interesting to see PJ's spin on it. Some people hate the movies but I've loved each one so far! I'm also trying to get through Mockingjay.

  4. I loved Divergent but I haven't read the others. I hope they're good!

  5. The Divergent Trilogy is amazeballs :) It trumped The Hunger Games trilogy, in my opinion. I'm so excited for the movie!! I have the first book in the White Rabbit Chronicles on my to-read list for this month. I've heard really good things about it and I love Alice retellings. Have you read Splintered by AG Howard?

  6. I gobbled up the Divergent Series! It was really great - very excited for the movie to come out! I'll have to check out the other books you are wanting to read. I am in need of new reading material!
