Passion For Fashion #35 : #100DaySpendingBan :

Yes, you read that right.
I'm on a self-imposed 100 Day Spending Ban and I have to admit that even though I'm less than a week in, it feels pretty good.  Donna of PolkaDot Pink, Rachel of Rachel The Hat & I are supporting each other in an effort to ban all unnecessary shopping for the next 100 days.  I'm pretty sure the three of us have enough dresses to clothe a couple dozen women for a month, without repeats... easy.  So it shouldn't be that hard, right?

When I mentioned earlier that it feels "good" I really meant it.  I've happily deleted every shop sale or promotion that has come through my inbox, and I'm looking forward to rediscovering all of my old clothes again.  I'm sure I have stuff in my closet (or in storage, or in my ironing pile) that I've only worn once or twice... so it pretty much is new stuff.  I will literally shop my own closet for the next 97 or so days.  April 15th if the "big day" when we get to shop again!  Imagine how exciting that will be!?

I'm just hoping these will still be available by then!!

Also, I'm hoping to have some fab outfit posts ready to link up soon... the weather has been horrible, and I've been sick as a dog since Christmas!

  4. I really do want to do this with you guys, but I don't think I can keep myself honest! I think I would sneak a thrift shop trip or two in there, and blow the whole thing. But I am hosting a clothing swap at my house in a couple weeks, and I have definitely not spent as much on clothing and accessories since Christmas. So it's a start! Good luck!

  7. I think this challenge is so awesome! I did a 5 month 2nd hand pledge and it was really good for shifting my perspective on shopping.

  8. I have been doing the shopping ban for a year. I am continuing for another year. Good for you for being sensible. It feels so good and you can meet other more important goals.

  9. I'm like you all, I can shop my closet and still not repeat. But I do need to do some serious purging because I have stuff I can't or don't wear for whatever reason.

  10. Oh hi, Lena! I thought you had stopped your Hop. I did. I was seeing various ones of my followers with your button on their post's today and so here I am.

The shopping ban is in my head too but I am not going to make it 'official' because I did one in August and it about killed me. But I have a bunch of new items that I got as gifts and then I did shop at Savers a bit more than usual in December {was there to find gifts, which I did for HM} but now I am very content with my wardrobe for a few months anyway. So I guess I could say I'm on an unofficial shopping ban, yes, I can handle that verbiage. lol

  11. No shopping for yourself till the 15th of April. I want to say that should be easy cause I'm not big on shopping for myself but then again, I guess just cause you decide to do it you'll fin amazing outifts all the time. Murphy's law and everything. I have decided not to buy any clothes until I got back down to my ideal weight. I have loads of things in my closet that I can't wear cause I've picked up weight so as soon as I lose a couple of pounds I'll have lots of 'new' things to wear again.

Good luck with your shopping ban and get better soon!
