What My Phone Wears

Truth be told, if I could afford it... I would probably have a phone case to match every different outfit I put together.  Phone cases are as much a part of your "look" as your shoes or bag...

It took me forever to decide on THIS one, but I love it!
When I got my new Android a few months ago, I actually did need a new case... so I took to Etsy to find the perfect one.  When I came across RDelean, I was totally smitten.   What I discovered was not only a shop full of cute phone cases, but a woman with amazing photography skills & a unique way to showcase her work.  From phone cases to flip flops to shower curtains, her shop has it all!!
Wouldn't this "just married" shower curtain make a great gift!?
You can find her on Facebook too!

Chambray 3 Ways : meet Sue & a GIVEAWAY :

Happy Monday, friends!
I hope everyone had a fabulous long weekend!  I still can't believe Summer is half over... I've already started back-to-school shopping for the kids!  And... a little "just because" shopping for me too.  Got to take advantage of these end of the season sales, right?

Speaking of shopping, Sue is here with a great fashion post AND an awesome giveaway!
Sue has been a bloggy friend for a long time now... probably one of the first bloggers I felt I had a connection with when my blog started taking off.  I am so excited to have her here today and I KNOW you'll ADORE her as much as I do.

Hello to the awesome readers here at Lena B, Actually! I'm Sue and I write about life and other things over at As It Seems. I want to tell you a secret: I am not a fashion blogger. So why am I doing a wear post? I still love fashion and more importantly, I love feeling comfortable in my clothes and still looking good. Five months ago I gave birth to my darling daughter, Everly. Since then it's been a new challenge to find clothes that look good and feel good for my post-baby body. To add to the excitement and stress of life, we moved a month ago from Japan to Utah. I have nothing but a suitcase of clothes because all our worldly possessions are being shipped to us. So I end up wearing the same things over and over.

To keep things interesting I try and style them differently each time I wear them. And so I give you a favorite piece of mine, the chambray button up, styled three ways. I like to call it mom fashion. Easy, comfortable, cute.

I think maxi skirts are a must for easy summer fashion. They're like wearing pajamas in public. This is my new favorite. I love the asymmetrical stripes to give it a different feel than most maxi skirts. I also feel like a legit blogger now since I have a red floppy hat. I love to wear it in the evening when I take Everly on walks.

I love the pink shorts in this outfit. They're linen and so comfy/casual. Perfect for summer! These accessories are some of my favorites. Especially the headband- I made it myself! Don't you love wearing DIY items?

This last outfit is just a little more dressy. I wear things like this on date night (if it ever happens!) or out with friends. I'm a big fan of the high-low trend. I feel like it adds length to my 5'3" body and that's always a good thing.

If you made it through my outfit ramblings you deserve a prize.
One lucky winner will get a pair of lightning bolt earrings from Forever 21, a headband made by me (just like the one in the second outfit), and a $15 gift card to Target (since that's where my fab chambray shirt is from). Just because I love you. A big thank you to Lena for letting me share her space today and good luck in this little giveaway!

xo Sue

Breezy Being Green

There's just something about a good maxi skirt that makes me really makes me happy.
Is there anything easier to wear in the summer time?

Now that my hair is gone, I find myself drawn to really feminine pieces... even more that before.

When I spotted this skirt on ModCloth, I just had to have it.
It's just such a pretty shade of green and the yellow waist adds just enough personality & sass to take this skirt to the next level. Even my husband commented on the color.

I have to admit that I felt very bohemian & girly the day that I wore it.  And that felt really good!

Tattoo Tuesday : New Ink :

Last Thursday I finally got my new tattoo.  I booked the appointment at least 2 months ago, but it was definitely worth the wait!
I arrived at the shop and my artist had already drawn up the teapot & teacup I wanted.  After a few minor adjustments and repositioning, the stencil was on & I was sooooo ready!

I'm not going to lie... it hurt.  I'm pretty tough, and I pride myself on having a pretty high pain tolerance, but there were a few moments I just wanted to cry and/or bend over and punch my tattoo artist in the face.  The teapot took 1 hour & 45 minutes to complete.  The teacup went quicker and after sitting in that chair for nearly 3 hours... they were done!

They're healing really well besides some major swelling the first night & day after... and, of course, the "itchy" phase they're at now.

Sausage Feet!

Tattoo Tuesday : micro wedding bands :

Lena B, Actually

It's time for Tattoo Tuesday!
I'm actually getting a NEW tattoo tomorrow and I'm so excited!  It's totally not in my budget, but it's something I've been wanting for a loooooong time and I'm just going to do it!
Stay tuned next week for the big reveal!
(and don't forget to check out this post to see how you can help me raise money for cancer!)

Today I'm thrilled to have Tricia here.  She's sharing a special tattoo her & her husband got on a fun date night out a couple years ago!!

Hi, it's Tricia from Mama Marchand's Nest

I'm thrilled to be sharing Lena's space today!

The hubs and I share a love for tattoos which is surprising to a lot of people. I guess we appear super conservative on the outside but if we had our way, and the budget to match, we'd have a lot more tattoos than we do!

Tattoos have been something special we have shared for almost a decade. We got our first tattoos together about a year after we got married - he got a cross made out of nails on his upper arm and I got the Greek word for eternal on my lower back. Since then, I've had some work done on mine, adding a vine and leaf design around it.

The ones I'm sharing with you today for Lena's Tattoo Tuesday post is our matching set of wedding ring micro tattoos. These were done on a whim, back in 2011, while we were on vacation in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. We had already planned a date night sans baby (thanks to our family vacationing with us) and the hubs suggested these. I couldn't say yes fast enough!

The tattoo artist who did these had never tattooed something so small before so we were a first for his portfolio. We wanted them to be small enough to fit under our wedding rings because they were something special, just for us. We love how they turned out!

Thanks to Lena for having me here today!

I'd love for you to stop by and say hello:

No Hair Don't Care #BaldIsBeautiful #CancerSucks

If you follow me on Twitter, Facebook or Instagram you probably already know that yesterday I shaved my head to show support for those who have battled & are battling cancer and to raise money for this important cause.

I've never been one to be too attached to my hair, so I thought this would be an excellent way for me to do my part.  The look has been well received!  Even my mom said I looked like Jessie JI didn't even know she knew who that was!

I am having fun with my new hair, but the fact that this is something I CHOSE to do, is not lost on me.  For so many people, it is a reminder of how sick they are... and how precious life really is.  People have told me I am brave for doing this... no way.  It's those who are fighting & have fought this terrible disease that are the REAL heroes.

If you'd like to help... all you have to do is purchase ad space!  All proceeds from ads sold this week will go to the Canadian Cancer Society!
