My Delightfully Weird Night Out

Dress via Dress911 // Sunnies via Old Navy
According to my Mr., this dress is "weird." But in a good way.
Sorta like Janis Joplin had a nervous breakdown and shaved her head...
his words, poeple, not mine.
You know what else is weird?  Me going staying out until the wee hours, hangin' in a secret bar-within-a-bar...
You see, on Friday I headed to the city to hang out with my real life bestie.  We've been friends since we were about 14 and don't get to see each other as often as we used to.  The day was great... We ate & shopped and had a great time!
We met up with the rest of the gang for dinner.  Korean.  It was delicious.  I had the pork bulgogi.... and I even attempted it with chopsticks.  It's been YEARS since I was anywhere near an authentic Asian restaurant and I did end up using a spoon.  What can I say, I'm a classy broad!

After dinner, we had drinks at a local wine bar.  Again... I tried something for the first time:
an Apple Pie Martini.
Delicious!
Around 10 or so, most of the party had scattered... but my friend and her sister wanted to show me a cool little bar they frequent... it was awesome.  The vibe in that place was perfect!  It felt very raw & sophisticated... best part, they have a secret bar downstairs.  Of course, the secret is out and there was a waiting list... but we got down there!
I was in my very first speakeasy!
You take the stairs and hidden behind an old bookcase is the other bar.  It felt very "prohibition-ish" - apparently the drink menu is different down there and they tend to mix their drinks a little stronger.  There is room for 20 people max.  Again very cool.  I sipped a beer from a mason jar and just took it all in.
I don't get out much these days... but when I do, I make it worth it!
Even though I LOVED my night out... it was nice to get back to reality with my little family.
