Netflix :: Kid Approved Family Viewing ::

The best $8 I spend every month is, without a doubt, our Netflix Canada subscription.
I know, I know.
TV shouldn't be used as a babysitter... BUT I love watching TV... and my kids do too!
They don't spend hours & hours in front of the TV, but they do have movies & shows they really enjoy.

I thought it would be fun for Memphis & Ruby to share a few of their favorite titles with you today...

Some of their favorite current Netflix picks are:

SpongeBob SquarePants
Dinosaur documentaries (for example, the ''Walking With _____________'' series)
River Monsters
My Little Pony
Pinky Dinky Doo
Pink Panther (the old ones we used to watch!)
Gnomeo & Juliet
Ferngully
Madacasgar 3

The list could go on & on.  Usually they get stuck on 1 or 2 shows and watch those over & over again for a few weeks days.
I think our US friends have an even better selection, right?  What are your kids favorite shows to watch?

I'll be back again soon with a more adult list of our favorite Netflix shows!
You'd think I was being paid to rave about it, but I'm not... I'm just a huge fan of Netflix.

  3. We love Netflix. That's one non-negotiable item in our monthly budget. My kids have enjoyed a lot of the Disney and Nickelodeon shows that they've never seen since we've never had a cable subscription. Right now a kid favorite is the Transformers Rescue Bots series. My 3-year-old thinks any yellow car he sees is Bumblebee. We also watch My Little Pony and Wizards of Waverly Place on a regular basis.

  4. We like TV too and I don't mind Reagan watching TV because we balance it out with getting outdoors and doing crafts together.
She loves Disney ~ Tinkerbell series and she really likes the Sprout channel too!

  7. We LOVE netflix streaming. TV in general, is how we regroup most of the time. A little netflix = sitting still and having a snack. Key there is sitting still!! My almost 2 yr old is obsessed with Blue's Clues and Super Why. 5 yr old My little pony, My Big Friend?, and I am a sucker for Fern Gully and Rugrats since that's what I watched growing up!

  8. Never would have thought that there would be a difference between US/Canadian.

    I LOVE Netflix.

It got us hooked on Doctor Who and The Walking Dead.

Freedom watched a lot of Hello Kitty, and they both love Spider Man.

I like how (at least here) they have the kids menu.

  9. We have Netflix and we LOVE IT! The kids (4 and 2) almost know how to access it on our 3 devices (2 tv's and ipad)(those little boogers!)But seriously, they will watch anything and everything if I let them. The kids selection is amazing, from Veggie Tales to Spider man! It's awesome!

  10. SpongeBob SquarePants is a big favorite in my house! However, I cancelled our Netflix subscription after I started working at DISH. I’m glad that I did because I’ve heard that Netflix is planning to takedown all SpongeBob episodes this month. We have access to each of the eight seasons of SpongeBob through DISH’s Blockbuster @Home, and between the little yellow sponge and Dora the Explorer, my kids don’t watch much of anything else!
