All Dressed Up

Ever have those days where you feel like getting dressed up even though you have nowhere to go?
The kids were gone to their grandparents for the night on Saturday... Sunday I slept in and then we spent most of the day on the couch watching movies.

Seriously... from the time they left on Saturday until the time they got back, I think we watched 6 movies:
Wanderlust, Possession, The New Daughter, Abducted: The Carlita White Story, Man on A Ledge & What to Expect When You're Expecting... ha!!

Okay, back to my point.  It was after 1:00 p.m. on Sunday and the kids were going to be home soon... so I finally too a shower, got all dolled up, took a few pics of myself, ran a few errands, picked up the kids, played with the,, got supper ready, bathed them... all the while wearing this!

Moral of the story: If you want to dress up, do it!!

Dress: Walmart (cheap! $12ish)
Necklace: GroopDealz (cheap! $5ish)
Shoes: Payless (years ago)

That's such a cute dress! And I'm definitely in the habit of dressing up as much as I want to, even if I'm just staying home or going to the post office or other things that aren't terribly appropriate for dress-up clothes.

I love that dress and the necklace compliments it perfectly.

And I think that's good advice. Being that I work from home, I tend not to get dressed unless I have to leave the house. One the same note, I feel so much better if I'm dressed and put together. But at the same time, I hate wasting an outfit and makeup on sitting at home. Predicament!

I totally have those days! Mostly because I usually don't have anywhere to go, haha. I'm trying to get out of the mindset of needing an occasion to 'dress up' otherwise a lot of my skirts and dresses will never see the light of day.

Also, you look cute. :)

I find that when I am without my kids I sometimes just sit down and find myself sucked into watching Lifetime. I thinks it's great to get dressed up when you feel the urge. You look adorable and love the haircut. Thanks for stopping by.

That dress is so pretty! It looks pretty comfortable too, I don't blame you for wearing it just because.

You look absolutely adorable! I have almost the same necklace, but I paid $35 for it from Bauble Bar! I should learn to wait for Groopdealz to catch on to a trend...haha. They always have the best cheap jewelry. Thanks for linking up!

Love that you paired a dark dress with the other accents, The dress and shoes stand out more with the black tights than they would've with the lighter colored tights I would have chosen myself. My mind is opened!

I can't believe you got that dress at WalMart- that's awesome! And I respect dressing up. Sometimes if I am feeling ultra 50s ish I totally put on a tee length dress, heels, an apron and bake :)

I think having a dress in your closet is reason enough to dress up. P.S. There is nothing wrong with a movie marathon now and then.
