Ask Me Anything - ANSWERED!

Of course, I hope you know you don't need an official invitation, but I thought it would be a fun way to get to know me better!

A big thank you to everyone who participated!
Here we go!

What is your parenting philosophy and where are your tattoos and what are their meanings?
Oh and do you like being a working mom?

When it comes to my parenting philosophy, I'm a strong believe in trusting your gut & going with the flow.  Every child is different and I don't think there is a clear right or wrong way to handle every situation.  My son is autistic, my daughter is not, so obviously, we need to react to certain situations differently with each of them.  What is clear is that my children are taught to be respectful, to follow the rules and to come to me or their father with any questions they have.  We speak very openly with our children.

I have a several tattoos... most of them are little, insignificant ones I got when I was younger.  I have a little start on the inside of my right ankle... my BFF and I got matching ones.  So that one is cute.  The most important one I have is on my right calf.  There are 2 swallows & a heart & a banner with my children's name on it.  It's simple, it's old school & I love it.  I am planning on getting a photography-related tattoo very soon!

Being a working mom is hard.  But being a mom is hard. Period.
I enjoy my job, I don't love it. But it pays the bills.  Life is hectic.  I wish I could spend more down time at home with my kids, but this is what needs to be done.  I am proud that I have figured out how to sort of manage it all!

How do you balance blogging, working and being a mom? I love blogging but find it hard to find the time!

Work is easy. In the sense, that I can clock in & clock out.  Monday - Friday, 8:30-4:30 type of thing.
Being a mommy is a full-time gig and without a doubt the most important & most rewarding of the 3!  I'm no expert on managing it all, but I find getting up early during the week helps.  I'm no night owl, so I try to get up before the kids & hit my emails, pay the bills, schedule blog posts, etc.  I spend as much time as possible with the kids after work & on the weekends.  They're cool, though.  They know that sometimes Mommy needs to ''work'' on blog posts, or photoshoots, etc.  They're usually right near by, though!  It's all about priorities & time management... I'll let you know when I really figure it all out!

You always have gorgeous skin! Do you have a skin routine you could pass on? Do you do you use anything to prevent fine lines?

Ha! Oh Beth, this made me so happy.  Yay for awesome photo editing skills!  :)
I actually have bad skin.  I've suffered with acne since I was 12 and I still do! I've tried everything out there... really.  Right now I'm using Bioré Blemish Ice Cleanser.  I've also been known to use toothpaste to particular nasty zits!  lol
Truth be told, even though I suffer with blemishes, I'm not doing too bad in the wrinkle department.  I use sunscreen all year round and stay out of the sun in the summer.  I'm also trying to drink more water!

I remember when we both reached our 100 GFC followers! Well, I had to start from scratch again...and it's really liking starting from scratch!
I always wondered...when did you decide that it was a good time to have paid sponsorships? And any pointers on getting people to the blog would be great too!

I started accepting paid sponsors sometime after I reached 500 GFCs.
At first, ad spots were handed out via giveaway wins.  When more people started asking about sponsoring me, wondering when I would accept paid sponsors, I bit the bullet!
As for getting people TO the blog, I think networking is the best approach.  Host linkups, participate in linkups, comment, comment, comment.  Form friendships with the blogs you frequent.  It's an incredibly supportive group of people!

When did you think was a good time to accept sponsors?

Again, I waited until the demand was there.
Depending on what your sponsorships will include, be aware that is is something you have to commit to.  It's usually a lot more work than just putting someone's button on your sidebar!  First & foremost, make sure YOU are ready & that you have a plan!

Have you spent time in the states? If so where? Did you enjoy it? And how is it different from home? Or is home here? Lol k I'm done!

I have NOT spent much time in the States at all.  I've been to New Hampshire (when I was 10), Pennsylvania & North Carolina (when I was 15) and Florida when I was in my early twenties!  I've been wanting to go back, I'd love to spend a week in NYC!
I'm from a very small farming community in Quebec, so all those places were refreshingly different!

Boxers or Briefs?
Ha!  I prefer my hubby wears boxers... I'm always buying him funny ones with cartoon characters on them!  But I love buying Memphis little boy briefs.  He's such a skinny kid, he'd get lost in boxers!

I've been asking people to ask me anything periodically over the last handful of months. I'm hoping to put together a vlog soon.

  9. I've been blogging for 5 yrs and never done paid sponsorships and don't have as many followers as I would like. Maybe I should try do sponsorships :)

    And I love your outfit!

  10. fun idea. i might try this sometime. maybe when i get to 1000. whenever that is. no rush. haha.. i love your admitting to photo editing for bad skin. i so do the same thing. my skin is obviously airbrushed in almost everything I post. the one part of me, for some reason I have a hard time "being real" skin makes me so paranoid, unfortunately.
