Hey Doctor!

Last week, I was reading my friend Stacy's blog and I almost jumped out of my seat when she wrote about baking a cake using ONLY a cake mix + a can of diet coke... what!? Apparently you don't need the eggs, water & oil!

Since I'm totally addicted to Diet Dr. Pepper and I happened to have a chocolate cake mix in the cupboard... I went for it!

Ruby helped by cleaning the bowl afterwards... the best part, right!?

Anyhoo, I didn't take any after pictures because nobody wanted to wait to taste it!
The hubs couldn't get over how moist it was... and he's not even a fan of Dr. Pepper!!

This stuff is amazing!

This is about as domestic as it gets around here... a box of cake mix & a can of pop... that's what I call baking!

Have you tried Dr. Pepper in any of your recipes!?

  3. Awesome!!!!! I love how easy that is. I don't have Dr. Pepper OR premade cake mix here in Germany...but I'll make a note of this for when I'm back :)

  4. Glad you tried it and enjoyed it - when I tried it, i couldnt believe how moist it was either...and if anyone is on weight watchers, it's apparently only one point per cupcake - total awesomeness!!
I have been reading different combos - white cake with orange crush, cream soda - another one that people use is the Angel Food cake with a can of crushed pineapple - juice and all - thats it! I think the possibilities are endless! Glad you enjoyed and found an even quicker way to bake a cake!!

  5. I've made chocolate cupcakes using Diet Coke before. Isn't it strange how a can of soda is all you need? Works well, & cuts the fat for sure. I just wonder what chemicals I'm baking up ;)

  16. You can do this with any cake and soda. I've heard diet sprite and yellow cake mix is good... Also vanilla cake and cream soda!
