The Other F Word

I saw this documentary on Netflix earlier this week, and I just had to share it with you!
It's a look at veteran punk rockers & how they've adapted to fatherhood.

As woman, as a wife... there's nothing NOTHING hotter than seeing my hubby with his kids.
When I met him, he was 18 and very much into the punk scene.  I was an honor roll student... what can I say?  I liked bad boys.  Opposites attracted.

But now, 16 years later, even though he's covered in tattoos and can look a little rough & tough sometimes, he is a wonderful dad!
Yes, he still uses the real "F" word... but he also LOVES his kids more than anything.
He brings Memphis fishing, and he's not too macho to get on a float full of little ballerinas in the Christmas parade {yes, he did that! for Ruby!!}

Is he PERFECT, heck no!
Who is?
But he will do anything for his kids, and there's really nothing more punk rock than that!!

"Maybe the way we change the world is raising better kids."
Jim Lindberg

All this to say, 16 years ago the last thing on  his mind was kids...
and now, they're his whole world!

  1. Awesome! I am so watching it tonight! Thanks for the tips.. And your guy sounds great to me :)

  2. What an awesome post! When I met my man he was the furthest thing from husband/father material, but now six years later he is the BEST at both! Stopping by from the GFC hop and am now your newest follower:) Hope you can come check out Crazy Mama Drama !

  3. This sounds a lot like my story. I met my husband 16 years ago and he was the singer in a heavy metal band with hair all down his back and tattoos. We are about to celebrate our 12 year anniversary this month. He is the best daddy to our boys (6 &4)and an awesome husband. Nowadays he is a police officer but he is still a singer in a metal band and I wouldn't have it any other way :)

  4. This looks amazing! I love it!

  5. Awww how sweet! I totally lived reading this :)

  6. I will definitely watch this. Hard to believe but I was big time into that scene as a kid. My first boyfriend had a very tall mohawk. My mother almost...well you know.
And you really can't judge a book by the cover. He sounds like an awesome dad and one your kiddos are lucky to have.

I ♥ hearing from you!
Thanks so much for taking the time to write me a little message!
