Nitty Gritty sneak peek with Megan!

Hi all you MemphRubites! Yep, that's your name now. I call my readers "Shaper-Uppers." What can I say, I'm good at giving out nicknames.

I'm Megan from Shaping Up To Be A Mom, and I've been here before, but I'm BACK! *evil laugh*

Today I'm going to share a special sneak peek of my upcoming series, "The Nitty Gritty of Blogging!"

Shaping Up To Be A Mom

Last month I posed some questions, and the post got a big response. A lot of other bloggers were wondering the same things I was, and several of them asked me to post the answers when I found them out.

Well, I've been doing hours of research and finding out some really cool things that have enhanced my blog and blogging experience as a whole, and I want to share them with you!

Did you know that if you have a FeedBurner account, you can have your blog posts automatically posted to Twitter? And if you have your Twitter account linked to Facebook, they will post automatically there as well!

If you have a Blogger blog, then you should already have a FeedBurner account. Log into FeedBurner with your Google account, and click on your feed (it should be your blog's name). If you have more than one feed, just click on the one with the most subscribers:

Click on the Publicize tab at the top, and then click on "Socialize" on the left hand sidebar:

The next screen will allow you to connect your Twitter account to your blog. Click "Add Twitter Account" and supply the information. Then you can customize how this feature works! You can choose to have the tweet include a link to the blog post, create hash tags from your labels, and allow others to retweet. There is also a place where you can add extra text that will always show up at the beginning or end of the tweet.

Here is an example of two of my blog posts that were automatically posted to Twitter by FeedBurner:

And since my Twitter account is linked to my Facebook page, my blog posts show up there automatically as well!

So now you know how to get your blog posts automatically posted to Twitter and Facebook, and maybe save yourself a little bit of time!

Hope you'll stop by June 18th-22nd to read the rest of this "Nitty Gritty" series!
Or just stop by to say "hi!" I can be found in lots of places!

Megan!! Thank you so much!
I'm going to check this out, like... asap!
One one hand it feels like I've been blogging forever.... but tips like this make me realize I still have a TON to learn!!
