May the odds...

... be ever in your favor.

Wow.
I saw the movie last night, and it did NOT disappoint!

It's been a while since I read The Hunger Games, but I'm pretty sure the movie followed the book as best it could.  I took a little issue with how Katniss gets her mockingjay pin in the movie {that doesn't happen that way in the book, right?}, but other than that, I think the cast was perfect and the set & the effects were exactly right.

I wish I could say more, but I don't want to ruin the fun for any fans that haven't seen it yet or for anyone who {gasp!} hasn't read the books!

Here are some fashion sets I put together inspired by the movie!

Girl on Fire

Have you seen the movie?
Did you LOVE it?

  2. Love these fashion looks. And yes I was a little disappointed in the pin too, because it becomes another plot point in Chasing Fire... Wonder how they will fix that!
And even though it seemed like Peeta was always crying... I love him anyway!!

  3. This is another movie I wish my daughter was here to go with me. Might be able to force my husband to go. She talked me into reading all the Twilight books...which I at first resisted...and duh...I'm a total addict...yes I said it. So when she kept at me to read Hunger Games I decided to take her advice and Love them so far....have read 2. she went to midnight showing... I don't mind going with the hubs, but it's always better to go with someone who's more a fan and won't make fun. Glad you enjoyed it...I can't wait. Just hope I won't be the only non-teenager

  4. Yeah they did change how she got her pin. I put together a good, bad, ugly on the movie on my blog. Check it out if you have time. I like your girl on fire outfit. How cute was her interview dress in the movie?

  5. Just got back from it. Perfect outfits based on the film. I agree that they did as much following the book as possible and I didn't mind the deviations because the film was already 2hr 22 min. To introduce more characters... say to give her the pin properly could have pushed it to over 3.

  8. I saw the movie on Friday, and I loved it too. My only real complaint was that the cannon didn't go off when some people died and did for others. But I loved it, one of the best book-to-movie adaptations I've seen in quite a while.

  9. saw it this weekend and loved it. I had issue with some things being left out of the movie (but understand that it couldn't be a 4 hour movie). And was a tad disapppointed they didn't really go into the Katniss/Rue relationship in depth. But the acting, costumes, music, cinematography... all of it - freakin' amazing! And Peeta?? Well, hello hottie!!
