miscellany monday

Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters

{1} Back to work
Ugh!!!!  I was seriously just getting into the swing of being on holidays... and boom!  Back to work already!
The past 2 weeks have really flown by!
I'm also swamped... two whole weeks away from the office has really done a number on my inbox!
I don't mind being busy, I just hate being "behind" in my work, so I'm hoping to get all caught up quickly!

{2} Holiday weekend
Here are just a few pics of our local Canada Day parade.  It was a great day!  Very warm... but we picked a nice shaddy spot to watch it from! Beautiful parade, great weather, good times!

{3} Snakes
So, Memphis LOVES snakes.
Well, he loves the idea of them.  He'll watch anything on the Discovery Channel about them, and has a ton of books.  Mr. Database (as we call him) needs to know everything about them!
While at my parents place on Saturday, Memphis and my dad went "snake hunting."  My brother had left an old aquarium at my parents place and Memphis really wanted to catch a snake as a pet.... but {un}fortunately, they didn't come across any!
Fast forward to this morning when I walk out the door to go to work, and I'm greeted by an aquarium on my front step... with a snake in it!
Seriously!  I almost had a heart attack.
My dad must have dropped it off as a surprise for Memphis.
''Lucky'' for us, we have neighbors that are very knowledgeable about snakes.
I think they have 30or so in their apartment...
The guy actually has a website and considers himself a garter snake expert.
They came to check on the snake when I went home for lunch... and suggested I bring it into the house since it was so warm outside.
So, yes... I have a snake in a my living room right now.
Will keep you posted.

  2. Oh my goodness, there is absolutely no way I could handle having a snake in my house. I am terrified of snakes like you wouldn't believe and could vomit just thinking about it. Cole absolutely loves snakes as well and his toy snakes make my skin crawl...no chance of a real one in my house!

    Brave you are Lena!

  5. OH MY WORD. If someone dropped a snake off on our front doorstep, the hubs would literally start packing up our house to move. He hates them.

Me? Notsomuch. I don't mind them, really. If our kid(s) like snakes, I will be the one who takes them into the reptile house at the zoo (or so I've been told). ;)
