Adventures in Thriftin'

Last Saturday my brother-in-law came from out of town, and decided to take the kids on a sleepover to my mother-in-laws (a family BBQ was planned for Sunday... but they wanted the kids a day early).  Hubby was working so I had no idea what to do with myself.

My mom came over and we decided we head over to the next big town & putter around a little. On our way there, we discovered a local GEM!  A little thrift shop, hidden only about 10 minutes from my place!  I don't even know if you can call it a real thrift shop.  It seems it's run by volunteers (I'm guessing for the church) and it's opened on Wednesday and Thursdays for a few hours... and also whenever one of the volunteers feels like opening it up.  That was the case Saturday.  I got so excited when I saw that little sign on the street:  THRIFT SHOP OPEN, come on it!
Okay!!

My mom had so much fun helping me pick out stuff to try on.  We were in heaven... notice that little sign in one of my pics... yep. Take a bag (a huge garbage bag) for $5!  Swoon!

  5. This reminds me of when we had the big "browse" of my Grandma's stuff this spring - the aunts couldn't believe some of the stuff we picked! I'd have to be careful, though, I'd end up bringing home wayyyy too much stuff! lol

I didn't even have time to go through everything and fill up a garbage bag... but I left with 3 tops, 2 dresses, a clutch, a pair of mittens and a few other things for $5! :)
